I know TP wrote this, but John Denvers rendition is far superior 😊

This video shows the great Tom Rush at the peak of his talent. But his recent work is still impressive after all of these years. Rush is one of the prototypical singer songwriter guitarists who, in my view, never got the recognition he fully deserves. I saw him back in the 70s and he was incredible. BTW, he is a terrific acoustic guitarist, too!

I saw Phil Ochs in a small venue when a student in Johannesburg in 1973. Though he was in a bad way, his performance has stayed with me. Such a sad loss.

This song brings back sweet memories of my childhood, when we would stay outside playing all day. And my brother & I would lay in the backyard in our sleeping bags, watching for shooting stars until we fell asleep. No computers, cell phones, electronic games, etc, but I wouldn't trade the childhood I had for anything! Thanks, John, for reminding me of the beauty we often forget about as we get older. 🎶🎸✈🌞🐦🌹🌳🐋💖

This song never fails to bring tears to my eyes... it's so incredibly moving. I have the DVD that this came from, and I love that, too. John isn't here in person now, but his spirit will live on forever. I 'd like to think that the Angels are enjoying John's music as much we here on Earth do.

And he was gone just a few months later. I wonder if he knew he was dying at the time.

Saw Eric singing Thirsty Boots in A Montreal Cafe in the early 60's. He was playing guitar with a quarter, since he didn't have a pick. I had one and passed it over to him. Sweet memory.

I remember Phil from a chance encounter in the streets of Berlin. He was horribly depressed. We walked and talked awhile before he had a gig somewhere. I got lost and found my way back to my hotel just delighted over my afternoon. He died a few years later. His songs are so full of that sadness…
